Beautiful day on Governors Island for the 2022 NYC Poetry Festival
Back seat of the sedan,
leans on my grandmother,
strokes her sealskin coat,
its cool pelts. I look up to
see the locket around her neck.
The girl in the locket
stares back, does not smile.
